FLF Impact 6000At every airfield/airport around the world, there exists dangers and emergency situations. Therefore, consistent with the high safety standards of Mannheim City Airport, a fast and qualified taskforce is available, trained to deal with any emergency situation. In accordance with the regulations of the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) , an airfield fire engine FLF Impact 6000 is available to ensure aircraft fire safety, able to match the level of scheduled air traffic.

 

RäumdienstBuilding fire safety and technical assistance also fall within the airfield fire service’s area of responsibility. In addition, the airfield fire service undertakes tasks which are not part of their specific fire fighting duties. This includes the service of all technical facilities at the airfield, fuelling of aircraft, as well as summer and winter maintenance services. In order to effectively fulfil their duties according to regulations, all airfield fire service personnel are appropriately trained, and regularly carry out practical training and other exercises with the Frankfurt/Main airport fire service, alongside airfield training with the Mannheim Fire Department. Staff training is at all times held at a high level.
